The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 Will pray for death, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
