The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
