The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
