The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 BUT NAY! I call to witness the sunset's [fleeting] afterglow, 16 and the night, and what it [step by step] unfolds, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
