The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 shall call for destruction 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
