The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
