The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
