The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 Will pray for death, 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
