The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
