The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
