The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 will be easy, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
