The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
