The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
