The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 and the night, and what it [step by step] unfolds, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
