The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
