The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 Will pray for death, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
