The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 Will pray for death, 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
