The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
