The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
