The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 shall call for destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Behold, [in his earthly life] he lived joyfully among people of his own kind 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
