Al-Inshiqaaq
The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 will be easy, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
