The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
