The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
