The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
