The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 he shall call for destruction 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
