The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
