The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
