The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
