The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 Will pray for death, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
