The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 Will pray for death, 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
