The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
