The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 and the night, and what it [step by step] unfolds, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
