The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
