The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
