The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
