The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
