The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
