The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
