The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
