The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
