The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
