The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 he shall call for destruction 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
