The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
