The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
