The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 Will pray for death, 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
