The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
