The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 he shall call for destruction 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
