The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
