The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
