The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
